New Stages presents
Serving Elizabeth
by Marcia Johnson
New Stages concludes our 2024-25 season with a delightful staged reading of Serving Elizabeth by Marcia Johnson. Inspired by--and in direct opposition to--an episode in the Netflix series The Crown, Serving Elizabeth re-imagines from a Kenyan perspective the story of when a young Princess Elizabeth visits Kenya and learns that she has become Queen of England.
A crowd-pleasing, thought-provoking hit at the Stratford Festival, Serving Elizabeth is all about our fascination with the royals, the impacts of colonialism, and the unseen biases that influence how stories are told today.
Recommended audience: 12+
Tickets: $28
50% off for arts workers, students, and underwaged.
