Holly Cole Presented by Market Hall PAC and International Jazz Day
Sunday, April 27 • 7:30 PM
Holly Cole is flourishing. She has several decades of critically acclaimed concert touring, Gold and Platinum albums containing hit jazz/pop crossover singles and videos like “I Can See Clearly Now”, “Calling You”, “Girl Talk” and “Whatever Lola Wants”. She has received multiple Juno nominations and two Juno Awards for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, “Don’t Smoke in Bed“ and Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for “Shade”. Cole has two Japanese Grand Prix Gold Disc Awards and in 2013 was presented with the Montreal Jazz Festival’s “Ella Fitzgerald Award”. This very prestigious award, one where she is one of only two Canadians to ever receive it, put her in the ranks of other winners like Sade, Aretha Franklin, Harry Connick, Jr., Etta James and Diana Krall. It is awarded to only remarkable artists “who are jazz singers of significant talent that have had a major impact and influence on the international scene”.
All this has prepared Holly for her latest and most remarkable recording, “Dark Moon”. It will be released January 24, 2025 worldwide by Universal Music Canada. “The Dark Moon Tour” will go through to the end of 2025 with global performances that will include dates in Germany, Canada, Japan and the US.
