Sisters of the Split Sky

Sisters of the Split Sky: A Journey of Unity
Two Worlds. One Stage. A Story of Healing.
Experience Sisters of a Split Sky, a breathtaking multimedia musical spectacle exploring reconciliation and remembrance. Two sisters, separated by worlds, embark on a profound journey to rediscover their shared soul and remember who they truly are. Following the teachings of the Eagle Feather, they traverse a musical landscape like no other.
Witness a fusion of art and spirit, where composer-cellist Margaret Maria's stunning post-classical soundscapes merge seamlessly with singer-drummer Janet McCue's powerful Native songs and storytelling. The performance is anchored by "The Conundrum," (an incredible canoe drum created by Peterborough artist David Hynes) played by four-time JUNO Award winner Mark Kelso, its rhythm a pulse of unity and connection.
Immersive visuals create a world where spirit, music, magic and hope all dance together. The stage vibrates with the Curve Lake Children's Drumming Group and celebrated dancer James Mixemong - honouring the ever-evolving nature of spiritual and cultural responsibilities.
Sisters of the Split Sky is more than a performance; it's a sacred space where cultures bridge, divisions heal, and our shared humanity is celebrated in a symphony of sound, story, and spirit.
